The Team

What can I say about my team? they are possibly the greatest people I have ever had the pleasure to meet and each one of them has been blessed with a footballing talent. In goal we have Atif "Oliver" Khan who at 4ft 3" and eyesight like a mole is surprising brilliant at not only shot blocking but at commanding his defenders. One downside however to Atif's game is his horrendous distribution but we have had a local school girl from the Morley under 6 netball team helping him throw a ball in a straight line. In defence we have the rock solid Kris D Long and Saleem Patel. A partnership so solid it's reminiscent of Bruce and Pallister in the early 90's. The midfielders pack the pitch with midfield maestro James Caves pulling all the strings with passes that would humble David Beckham and a fierce shot that would have Petr Cech running home to his mother's bosom. We also have Jim Boorman and Simon in the midfield, Jim playing a defensive role like Edgar Davids and Simon running around like Paula Radcliffe on speed.

Strikers

Upfront our team shines with Scottish player of the year and Greenock's favourite son Graeme Kennedy consistently banging in goals and the footballing genius of James Wood who silences his opponents with epic performances week in week out. James Wood is a former England Under 21 international and actually taught Robbie Fowler how to finish ok well maybe he didn't but he is a footballing guru.

Part Timers

Away from the regulars we also possess a perfect selection of squad players ranging from the silky skills of Shaun Somo to the devilish speed of Phil "Eidur Gud" Johnson. Somo is our African player of the year and despite having a Rugby playing background he has taken to football like a duck to water, his feet have the ability to not only juggle the ball but to bemuse the opposition defence with skills to rival anything you'll see on Fifa street. Phil "Eidur Gud" Johnson is our equivalent to Thierry Henry not only has he got the blistering pace and the predatory instinct but he also has that special va va voom. Ryan Laking has also chipped in with a cameo appearance with his David Ginola style hair and wing wizardry (it's because he's worth it!). Neil Langdale the godfather of Capture and the best electrician this side of Norwich has also made a start and although not been blessed with Phil Johnson style pace he definitely held his own. The only other player to play a part in the history of CPAFC was Mahfooz Ahktar with a majestic appearance in goals deputising for the awol Atif Khan.

The No Shows

Not only do CPAFC have a core 10 players or so and another 3 or 4 part timers we also have a number of players waiting in the wings for their chance to shine. Both of the following have attained a squad number and have played with us on a Thursday night during training but are yet to make their first team debuts. Raj Panesar known locally as the Asian Carlton Palmer owns the number 6 while Jake "I look like Andrei Kanchelskis" Ford is the proud owner of the number 32 shirt. They are both waiting for their chance to shine and with players of this calibre waiting in the wings, the future looks bright for CPAFC.
